Keim Mineral Paints

The client list reads like a who's who of high-profile structures around the world: The "Riverside, Illinois Water Tower", "the Hong Kong Airport" to name a few. Denmark's Lighthouses feature Keim Systems due to the longevity of the finishes.

Keim Mineral Paints (100% inorganic in origin) were originally formulated by Adolph Keim in 1878 as the result of a specific edict from King Ludwig of Bavaria. Now, over 125 years later, the basic principles remain the same and have been proved to provide extreme long life.

As a result of its 100% inorganic binders, fillers and natural earth oxide color pigmentation, Keim Paints are a TOP-10 Building Green Product.

Keim Mineral Paints are ideally suited for external and internal decoration of wall surfaces. The heart of the system is comprised of a potassium silicate binder that reacts with mineral based surfaces (concrete, stone, stucco, brick masonry), and all other mineral surfaces as well as some metals to form a chemical bond. Competitive products containing organic solvents, acrylics and latex paints form a film on the surface. Keim, a dispersion paint system, has a long lasting subsurface penetration that will not peel, blister, or flake off. Many of the problems associated with water based acrylic paints are a result of poor vapor transmission.

Additional Keim System Features Include:

  • Excellent Water Vapor Permeability (resulting in low liquid absorbancy and excellent water repellancy)
