KN95 vs N95 Face Masks

Face masks of any kind are in high demand right now. KN95 and N95 face masks are currently in the most high demand face masks. In this post, we break down why KN95 and N95 masks are the best available and let you know Deslauriers has large supply of KN95 masks ready to ship.

KN95 vs N95 Face Masks

The main difference between KN95 and N95 masks is that the KN95s are the Chinese standard for face masks, and N95s are the American standard. These masks are very similar, although they do have some differences.

Filter Performance

The high filtering quality of these masks is the main reason why they are considered the best on the market. Both KN95 masks and N95 masks filter out 95% of particles .3 microns and larger. This makes both masks incredibly efficient at filtering the air you breathe in.

Face Fit

The KN95s have a standard for how the mask fits the face, while the N95s don’t. This is significant because closer fits for face masks means they are more effective. The closer the mask fits your face, the less gaps exist to allow unfiltered air in or out. Companies manufacturing KN95 masks are required to perform mask fit tests on humans to ensure the masks have 8% leakage or less. The N95 masks do not have this requirement.

N95 masks have a breathability standard, while the KN95 masks don’t. However, the difference in breathability between the two is extremely minimal. Both masks have high breathability levels, which means it’s not difficult to inhale or exhale while wearing them.

Which mask is better?

Both masks are great options to help keep you safe. Both KN95 and N95 masks will prevent you from inhaling viral and bacterial particles. However, only KN95 masks have the added benefit of measured close fit to prevent leakage.
